Message from the Owner
Thank you for sharing in my love of East Coast–style bagels. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in New Jersey, where I lived until relocating to Utah in 2019. While I’ve come to love Utah, my East Coast roots continue to shape both who I am and how we do things at Cheryl’s.
Our bagels are authentically crafted in the traditional East Coast style, with origins dating back to 17th-century Poland, where bread was first boiled and baked to achieve its distinctive texture. From the beginning, my goal with Cheryl’s has been to honor that heritage by creating a product that reflects both time-tested techniques and a commitment to exceptional quality.
Food has always played a central role in my life—it has been a way to celebrate, to comfort, and to connect. It brings people together and creates lasting memories. That belief is at the heart of Cheryl’s. My hope is that our shop becomes more than just a place to eat—that it becomes a place where relationships are built, where families gather, and where customers feel known and welcomed.
I truly enjoy seeing families return, watching children grow more confident with each visit, and getting to know our customers by name and by their favorite orders. We notice when someone hasn’t been in and sincerely hope they are well. Creating that sense of familiarity and belonging is what matters most to me. I want Cheryl’s to feel like a place that people of all ages can call their own—a place that feels like home.
It is a privilege to be part of the Bountiful community, and I am continually grateful for the support and encouragement shown to my shop. And as we like to say— not all bagels are created equal.
