Our Story

“Necessity is the mother of invention” couldn’t be more true than in the case of Cheryl’s Bagels. When Cheryl was unable to find her beloved style bagels in Utah, she took things into her own hands and spent months developing and testing her recipe until it matched the taste, texture, and flavor she grew up with in New Jersey.  

In 2020 Cheryl’s started as a home-based business and has since flourished into a beloved brick-and-mortar storefront located in Bountiful, Utah.  

At Cheryl’s we take pride in following the time-honored tradition of making genuine East Coast bagels. Our bagels are prepared daily in the traditional East Coast style-kettle-boiled and then baked—creating that signature golden crust and satisfying chew that are the hallmarks of true East Coast Style bagels, that true bagel enthusiasts crave.   

There is a reason that everyone isn’t making East Coast Style bagels, and that is because it is a long labor-intensive process, with variability often based upon the weather and the skill of the baker. They say it takes a village to raise a child. Creating a bagel requires a full team, and the team at Cheryl’s is amazing. 

We have bakers who rise well before the sun to bake to ensure that each day we provide a freshly baked product. 

We are a one and done shop. If a bagel doesn’t sell today, you will never see that bagel again, we don’t hold over bagels, ever!  

And do not fear, we do not waste food, at the end of the day any remaining bagels are donated. We warmly invite you to stop by and experience the difference for yourself.
